Walbeck in Geldern

The building was full of character and very pleasant. Stopped one night as passing through. Floors were a little bit creaky but that is to be expected for such an old building. Staff were incredibly friendly.

Have a coffee? Both times there were only two different types of cake (now in the Corona period) but homemade and super delicious. And the operation was just great! We keep coming back.

Spend the night in a real castle, although you can't see much of the castle inside. Each room is different, but clean and large. Breakfast buffet very good. Parking lot very small, totally overcrowded, as there are other activities in the area around the castle and the parking lot is there for everyone.

A magical place

I went horseback riding in this beautiful castle. The wedding itself was perfect all round. The staff was super friendly and recognized the wishes before they were expressed. But especially during the preparation, the owner was a great support. He made everything possible that was in his power. Breakfast the morning after, the accommodation all perfect! Thank you for everything .... if I had to I would get married there again ?

Everything was perfect. Friendly staff, nice program, e-shoppers, led Indian triad. Super grill buffet. Slept well. Very rich good breakfast.

Great day out with blueberry pancakes. My participants on the bus were delighted. The owner of the house has a great one Overview of the house from then and now Moderated. Super. It's a bit sleepy there. It's beautiful without question. A little variety of flowers couldn't hurt. Throughout the year quiet and somewhat inaccessible. Still an idyll in the country. A little more colorful, a little more open to interested strollers would be great.

Very great atmosphere, nice staff and just great to relax

You absolutely have to go there. Great atmosphere, beautiful courtyard, You can spend an afternoon there in comfort. The service is terrific, super nice and friendly. A paradise for children who can play there without worries. Large playground no traffic. Ideal destination for bike tours.

Great people .. nice location not expensive ..

Nice moated castle. Used as a starting point for a nice hike.

In bright sunshine we visited the beer garden. The freshly grilled sausage from Galloway beef tasted very good. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, after which we were in the large forest playground at the castle. There is everything that children want. Whether cable car, slide tower or rocking horse, there is even a snakeline. Dogs are also well taken care of and we will be back soon!

Nice little castle Super nice grounds, clean rooms with rustic charm and very friendly and courteous staff. We felt very comfortable.

If you want to spend the night in a great atmosphere, you are in good hands here. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and functional (single, double and multi-bed rooms). In sunny weather, having breakfast in the beautiful courtyard is pure relaxation. Seminars, conferences and weddings can also be organized there. Bicycle rentals, canoe tours on the Niers and other leisure activities are also available and organized on request.

Overall, I really liked it. The service was comprehensive. I felt comfortable.

Nice old "castel" with park but interior is old, quality of rooms are low,especially beds. Breakfast is average and worth 8 Eur (5 max).

Wonderful place

We were there on the medieval market and were really unlucky with the weather. Nevertheless, the organizers were totally flexible and have managed a great weekend. It was a great atmosphere.

Nice castle right on the Dutch border. Extensive, wooded area, ideal for walking. Numerous events. Very clean sanitary facilities.

Lovely old moated residence. Rooms basic but clean. Breakfast nice and the staff friendly. Would stay again!

Good place to stay. It looks fancy, to stay in a castle. The room was clean and the breakfast was nice. You gotta bring your own towels. The only con would be that you got to share the bathroom with other people.

I had driven past it a few years ago. A special building style in itself. It looked rather desolate then. Nowadays it appears to be a hotel, and I look at the pictures, it looks nice. Therefore 4 stars for Schloss Walbeck.
